Challenge:
In 2009 we were able to print ViewPoint in full color. We decided that this would be a great time to do a redesign of the entire magazine. The goal was to make a magazine that would engage alumni and keep them connected to the college. We also wanted to set up more design standards and style guidelines to make the designing of this magazine more efficient.
Solution:
We started out the process by sending out a survey to current alumni. We used this data to drive content for the magazine. We than developed an in depth style guide for the entire magazine. We did a lot of research on main stream magazines to inspire what these guidelines would be.
Results:
In July 2014 we received the best in class award from the Society of Adventist Communicators. This award was for best magazine design overall.
The President's Report for Pacific Union College

Challenge:
A president's report was needed to showcase PUC's achievements under Heather J. Knight.
Solution:
Cambria Wheeler and I brainstormed and researched all of the items we had to brag about from the past five years. We put together an outline of what we thought would best showcase all of our achievements and presented it to the president of the college. We than incorporated all of her ideas and changes and began the design process. We found that PUC had a lot to brag about so we came up with creative ways to show a lot of stats and information in a very accessible way.
